C&I Engineer

Are you a Control & Instrumentation Engineer with a passion for industrial automation and process control systems? This role offers the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects within the metals industry, taking responsibility for the design, development, implementation, commissioning, and optimisation of control and instrumentation systems in large industrial environments. Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Design, develop, and implement control and instrumentation systems for industrial projects

• Perform planning, specification development, costing, procurement, reporting, construction support, commissioning, and handover of electrical and control system packages

• Develop and maintain PLC programs and assist with control system integration

• Prepare instrumentation and control system specifications in line with project requirements

• Support plant commissioning activities and system optimisation

• Provide technical leadership and support to multidisciplinary project teams

• Manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and relevant authorities throughout project lifecycles

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and industry standards

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a project engineering environment

• Minimum 2 years' plant commissioning experience

• Strong experience with PLC programming and fault diagnostics

• Knowledge of instrumentation calibration, specification, and fault finding

• Experience with control system specification and implementation

• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and PFDs

• In-depth understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols

• Experience with project costing, budgeting, and cost control principles

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to design and develop new control systems while maintaining and improving existing systems

• Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver within budget and schedule constraints

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or related Engineering Discipline

• Professional Registration as Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech required
