Start free — we apply for you →ROLE PURPOSE Lead and manage the mine survey function, ensuring accurate, timely and legally compliant survey control, volumetric measurement and spatial data management across open-pit operations and the developing underground environment, in support of production, planning and statutory reporting requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Establish, maintain and safeguard the mine's primary and secondary survey control networks. • Direct all survey operations including pit and dump surveys, development and stope surveys, setting out, and as-built verification. • Manage monthly volumetric and tonnage measurements, and lead reconciliation of surveyed volumes against planned, claimed and reported production. • Verify and certify contractor measurements for payment and performance purposes. • Maintain statutory mine plans, sections and records in accordance with Zimbabwean mining legislation and lease requirements. • Manage survey technology including UAV/drone survey, laser scanning, GNSS, total stations and fleet management/high-precision guidance systems. • Own the mine's spatial database, drawing office and plan register; ensure data integrity, version control and accessibility. • Provide survey support to mine planning, geology, geotechnical engineering, and the mining contractor. • Support boundary, lease, servitude and encroachment surveys, and liaise with statutory authorities as required. • Develop QA/QC procedures, accuracy standards and audit protocols for all survey deliverables. • Build, lead, mentor and develop the survey team, including training and succession planning. • Ensure full compliance with safety, health, environmental and quality standards.
