ROLE PURPOSE Lead the mine planning function across all planning horizons, Life of Mine (LOM), Long-Term, Medium-Term (MTP) and Short-Term (STP), ensuring integrated, optimised and executable plans that deliver production, cost and resource objectives across open-pit operations and the transition to underground mining. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Own and direct the end-to-end mine planning process, ensuring alignment between LOM, LTP, MTP and STP schedules. • Lead the development of strategic mine designs, pit optimisations, cut-off grade strategies and underground transition studies. • Provide technical governance and quality assurance over all plans, designs, schedules and reserve statements. • Integrate geology, resource models, grade control, geotechnical, mineral processing, engineering and contractor inputs into a single coherent plan. • Direct fleet requirement studies, equipment matching, productivity assumptions and capacity modelling to underpin schedules. • Drive reconciliation of actual vs. planned performance; identify variances and enforce corrective action plans with the mining contractor. • Prepare and manage annual production plans, budgets, forecasts and capital planning submissions. • Lead technical and economic evaluation of mining options, trade-off studies and scenario analyses to support investment decisions. • Build, lead, mentor and develop the mine planning team, including succession and skills development. • Ensure planning compliance with Zimbabwean mining legislation, statutory reporting requirements and company standards. • Present planning outcomes, risks and opportunities to the Executive and relevant stakeholders.
