Chief Financial Officer (NPO / NGO experience)

This is not a traditional "maintain the status quo" CFO role. The business is looking for someone who can turn strategy into action, strengthen the finance function, modernise systems, drive automation and build sustainable financial performance. You'll have a genuine opportunity to influence the direction of the organisation, working closely with leadership on turnaround strategy, growth, funding, performance and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, turnaround planning, and execution • Drive FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning • Build advanced financial models and data-driven dashboards • Monitor performance, profitability, and financial sustainability • Lead digital transformation, automation, and systems implementation • Oversee AFS preparation, audits, and financial sign-off • Lead CAPEX planning, evaluation, and financial control • Strengthen financial governance, controls, and reporting • Support funding strategy and stakeholder engagement • Partner with leadership to execute business strategy and drive growth • Lead and develop the finance function and team Job Experience and Skills:

• CA(SA) or CIMA essential • Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles • 7+ years' commercial experience • NPO / NGO experience is essential • Funding experience • Proven experience in strategic or turnaround environments • Track record of driving process improvement, automation and systems implementation • Strong FP&A, financial modelling and data analysis capability • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling and dashboard reporting • Strong leadership and people management experience • Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves and executing • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership • Decisive, commercially minded and solutions-driven If you're a finance leader who wants to do more than protect the numbers, if you want to reshape the function, influence strategy, build sustainable growth and leave the organisation stronger than you found it, this is a CFO opportunity worth having a conversation about!
