Our client is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function and provide strategic financial leadership across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, commercial decision-making, reporting, governance, and supporting operational performance across multiple entities. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance executive who enjoys partnering with leadership teams and influencing business outcomes beyond traditional finance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic business decisions
- Manage project profitability, cash flow, and working capital
- Oversee financial performance across multiple entities and operations
- Manage treasury, banking relationships, and financial risk
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation, audit, and governance requirements
- Support commercial decisions relating to projects, contracts, and investments
- Strengthen financial controls, systems, and reporting processes
- Travel to regional operations as required
Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualification:
- CA(SA) or CIMA qualification
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role
- Experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, mining, contracting, or project-based environments
- Strong project accounting, contract costing, and profitability experience
- Experience managing multi-site or multi-entity operations
- Strong commercial and strategic finance exposure
Skills
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
- Ability to influence strategic and operational decision-making
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities
