Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town Employment Type: 3-Month Temporary Contract Salary: R17,000 – R22,000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
Are you a recent Chemical Engineering graduate , a postgraduate student looking to gain practical industry experience , or an engineering student needing to complete your in-service training ?
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a leading international chemical manufacturing environment while working alongside experienced Process Engineers and Maintenance professionals. Strong performers may be considered for longer-term opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
You'll play an active role in improving manufacturing processes by
Assisting with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation, maintenance, start-up, shut-down, and safety. Investigating and analysing manufacturing processes on the factory floor. Identifying process improvements, safety risks, bottlenecks, and efficiency opportunities. Developing practical solutions to improve operational performance. Creating and maintaining critical machinery spares lists. Preparing documentation in line with company standards and international directives. Completing Level 2 & 3 Process Mapping. Conducting Time & Motion Studies. Supporting ISO and AIMS audit preparation and corrective action implementation.
What We're Looking For
Chemical Engineering graduate, postgraduate student, or student requiring in-service training. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
Working Environment
- A combination of office-based work and hands-on factory exposure.
- Full PPE and strict adherence to safety procedures are required while on the factory floor.
Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:15 Friday: 07:30 – 15:00
