Role Outline

  • To support the implementation of the Operations Management System on site and ensure sustainability. This includes the development and coaching of the site leadership team supervisors and coordinators and the tracking of the OMS achievements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of the 4 OMS principles and 12 OMS elements, ensuring ongoing maintenance of the OMS
  • Engage site leaders on OMS through OMS Foundation and OMS Advisor initiatives
  • Act as the primary OMS Advisor contact for coaching site teams and supporting implementation activities
  • Regularly review OMS implementation with site leadership and resolve issues or challenges
  • Ensure leadership alignment and a clear understanding of the OMS operating system
  • Drive OMS standardization at site level and contribute to OMS best practice opportunities
  • Support the Site Management Team in establishing and maintaining an organization that delivers results
  • Maintain KPI integrity and ensure KPI updates are accurate and effective
  • Support the development, maintenance, and reporting requirements of the Management Review Process MRP
  • Ensure objectives and KPIs have proper targets and remain maintained
  • Verify that R&R documentation is approved by the Site Manager and maintained
  • Build TDM capability among leaders and support ongoing maintenance
  • Coach leaders to follow TDM routines and ensure responsibilities are executed in practice
  • Review control analysis with site management and implement improvement actions
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Performance Management
  • Attend OMS Engineer site visits and assist with OMS Data System configuration aligned to site routines and OMS principles
  • Ensure leadership can explain and support OMS elements and associated maintenance
  • Act as a local OMS support resource and engage with country/cluster OMS Engineers on implementation changes
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Job Standardization
  • Develop and maintain Work Instructions aligned to SHQ requirements
  • Develop Excellence School training programs, including training infrastructure, materials, and delivery
  • Train site leaders and multipliers in their roles within the Excellence School and instructional methods
  • Train, coach, and follow up with leaders on performance review processes
  • Train and coach site leaders on process confirmation and OMS standards confirmation routines
  • Ensure Job Standardization routines are in place and deviations are understood
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage Kaizen and Kaikaku opportunities and drive required improvement actions
  • Train site leaders in Excellence School problem-solving methodologies
  • Encourage leaders to continuously improve processes and maintain knowledge
  • Develop and maintain employee recognition programs and communication initiatives
  • Promote awareness and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 22716, ISO 13485, and relevant OMS requirements
  • Report OMS financial benefits
  • Report OMS plan status, alignment, and implementation challenges to OMS Advisors
  • Manage OMS coverage and accelerate implementation at the site
  • Track and manage OMS culture dashboards, providing visibility to site management, site leaders, and OMS Advisors
  • Promote a team-oriented work environment
  • Coach site leadership teams in OMS ways of working
  • Support the development of interpersonal skills
  • Support leadership and employee skills development

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 1-2 years' relevant experience in supply chain operations
  • Advanced computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment
  • Experience in performance management, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence managers across all levels within the organisation
