Role Overview

We are seeking an all‑round Cashier and Retail Shop Assistant to join our team in Montague Gardens, close to Cape Town. The role involves merchandising, selling, assisting customers, and handling cashier duties with accuracy and professionalism.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Merchandise products in line with food safety standards.

Provide professional customer service, handling queries and complaints.

Adhere to health & safety regulations.

Participate in monthly/ad‑hoc stock takes.

Assist across departments as needed.

Perform cashier functions: transactions, cash/card payments, cashing up.

Complete weekly customer calling sheets.

Source new customers to increase turnover and sales.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

Matric qualification.

At least 2 years’ FMCG experience.

Cashier experience essential.

Seafood knowledge advantageous.

SAP and/or CISTECH experience advantageous.

Skills & Attributes

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Honesty, integrity, and reliability.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Self‑motivated and able to work independently.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.

Ability to work under pressure.

Good time management.

Flexibility to work Saturdays and public holidays.

Hours

Monday–Friday: 07:45 – 17:00

Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00

Public Holidays as required
