We are seeking a reliable, customer-oriented Retail Cashier to serve as the face of our store. The ideal candidate will manage all checkout transactions with speed and precision, safeguard company funds, and deliver excellent service to ensure customers leave with a positive final impression
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process payments accurately using POS registers via cash, credit, or mobile apps.
- Scan merchandise efficiently while verifying pricing, discounts, and loyalty coupons.
- Balance the register by counting the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts.
- Greet customers warmly, answer store queries, and help locate specific products.
- Bag items carefully to ensure fragile purchases are properly protected.
- Handle returns and item exchanges in accordance with company refund policies.
- Verify identifications diligently for any age-restricted product purchases.
- Identify fraud by checking large banknotes for counterfeit indicators.
- Maintain checkout zones by frequently sanitising counters, organizing carts, and restocking bags.
- Promote store programs like loyalty cards, credit sign-ups, and special promotions.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12, or 3 years work experience.
- Basic mathematical skills and strong financial accuracy.
- Excellent communication, listening, and personal abilities.
- Fluent in English and the native language
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
