This opportunity is ideally suited to a CA(SA) with strong short-term insurance industry exposure who understands the complexity, governance, and regulatory demands of operating within a sophisticated multi-entity insurance environment. If you have a solid background in insurance finance, tax, reporting, and regulatory compliance — combined with the ability to navigate trusts, offshore structures, and strategic group entities — this role offers exceptional exposure and career growth. Detail: Why This Role Is Different This is not a traditional finance role. You'll work directly with the CFO and play a key role in supporting the group's shareholder structures, international entities, tax obligations, and property portfolio management within a dynamic insurance environment. The business is looking for someone who can combine technical excellence with commercial thinking, discretion, and strong stakeholder engagement. Key Focus Areas Insurance-Focused Financial & Tax Oversight Manage reporting, compliance, and tax administration across multiple entities Support governance and regulatory obligations within a short-term insurance framework Prepare and review management accounts and financial reporting packs Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations Monitor financial performance, fund flows, and reporting accuracy Shareholder Trust & Offshore Entity Management Oversee trust administration and annual financial reporting processes Liaise with trustees, advisors, and offshore service providers Coordinate regulatory submissions, tax returns, and ownership disclosures Assess implications of group structure changes across entities Strategic Stakeholder Engagement Partner with senior leadership and external advisors Support decision-making through accurate financial insights and compliance oversight Maintain strong governance standards across a complex multi-jurisdictional structure ssential Requirements CA(SA) qualification Proven experience within the short-term insurance industry Strong exposure to tax, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance Experience working within complex or multi-entity structures Knowledge of South African tax legislation and governance frameworks Advantageous Experience Exposure to trusts, offshore entities, or international structures Property portfolio or asset management exposure Experience engaging with executives, trustees, and external advisors This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO, where your insurance industry expertise will be critical in shaping governance, compliance, and financial oversight across the broader group structure.
