The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and controlling container movements, ensuring efficient delivery and collection activities, and maintaining strong relationships with drivers, suppliers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Control all deliveries and collections of empty containers.
- Plan and coordinate delivery and collection activities.
- Plan effective container movements.
- Distribute work fairly among drivers.
- Ensure client satisfaction through efficient service delivery.
- Ensure all drivers, suppliers and clients comply with site safety rules.
- Conduct/ensure safety inductions for drivers and visitors entering the premises.
- Ensure all drivers on the premises wear the required PPE.
- Report any safety non-compliance to the relevant safety representatives immediately.
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, clients and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Pre-advising and making bookings on Navis will be advantageous.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Cartage Controller, Transport Controller, Fleet Controller or similar logistics role .
- Experience in container movements and transport coordination.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Navis will be advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
