- Reckitt is on the lookout for an experienced Buyer who manages a portfolio of packaging materials and drives the delivery of value through effective sourcing, supplier collaboration, and procurement processes. The role contributes to operational efficiency, service reliability, and continuous improvement by applying established purchasing strategies, tools, and best practices.
Your responsibilities
- Following the strategy, sourcing and contracting of suppliers to achieve an adequate supplier base.
- Execute strategies of globally led commodities.
- Identify, select and develop supplier relationships and manage negotiations within the assigned portfolio.
- Prepare the budget predictions for the managed materials and will be accountable for meeting those predictions.
- Monitor and identify risks and opportunities in each sourcing process, driving mitigation and contingency plans to ensure continued supply of the materials/services.
- Accountable for the quality and service of the suppliers, driving improvement strategies through Productivity, Squeeze and E-Procurement.
- Monitor commodity feedstock information and market dynamics to exploit commercial advantages.
- Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with suppliers at senior management level, positioning the organisation as a preferred customer and driving mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with regional and manufacturing supply teams to understand business needs and priorities, enabling continuous improvements in material cost, service levels, and quality performance.
- Design, review, and negotiate supplier contracts in collaboration with the Legal team to safeguard intellectual property, mitigate commercial and supply chain risks, secure innovation exclusivity, ensure material availability, and deliver sustainable cost savings.
- Ensure governance which includes compliance to Global Operating Model, pricing and expense approvals, PPV reporting and analysis and full use of Ariba and Anaplan tools.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree in Supply Chain / relevant degree
- Minimum 4 -5 years experience in a multinational FMCG company with detailed understanding of packaging cost drivers
- Experience with SAP and PowerBI
- Proven track record of understanding the vendor base in local / international markets as well as understanding the commodity drivers.
- Experience in data and trend analysis
