Job Title: Butler Start Date: 2026-08-06 - 2026-09-05 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB003410 Sectors: Butler Location: Western Cape , Hout Bay Salary: (Market related) Brief: The Butler is responsible for delivering a highly personalized and discreet luxury guest experience by anticipating guest needs and ensuring exceptional service throughout their stay. The Butler acts as the primary point of contact for assigned guests, coordinating with all hotel departments to provide seamless service while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests on arrival and provide a personalised check-in and orientation of the property. Serve as the main point of contact for assigned guests throughout their stay. Anticipate and respond promptly to guest requests and preferences. Coordinate guest arrivals, departures, transfers, and luggage assistance. Arrange restaurant reservations, spa bookings, activities, and special requests. Liaise with housekeeping to ensure guest rooms are prepared to the highest standard. Coordinate with Food & Beverage to arrange in-room dining, private dining, and special occasions. Assist with unpacking and packing luggage when requested. Ensure guest rooms are stocked with requested amenities and refreshments. Maintain accurate guest preference records to personalise future stays. Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly. Deliver exceptional food and beverage service when required. Ensure guest privacy, confidentiality, and security at all times. Maintain knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, wine estates, and activities to provide recommendations. Assist with VIP arrivals and special events. Ensure all guest interactions reflect the property's luxury service standards. Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and grooming standards. Detail: Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric). Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Guest Services is advantageous. Butler training or luxury service certification is beneficial. Experience Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Butler, Guest Relations Officer, or Front Office professional in a luxury hotel, boutique hotel, private residence, or lodge. Experience working with high-profile or VIP guests is highly advantageous. Previous experience in five-star hospitality is preferred. Knowledge & Skills Exceptional guest service and hospitality skills. Strong understanding of luxury service standards and etiquette. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional grooming and presentation. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver proactive service. Knowledge of food and beverage service, wine service, and fine dining etiquette. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems (Opera experience is advantageous). Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Valid driver's licence is advantageous.
