Our client is a fuel data management company based in Braamfontein. The client has secured a number of service contracts on mines throughout Africa and they now want to develop this market as a stand-alone business unit
- The objective
- This is a sales and operational position for someone who is comfortable leading the development of a new business unit
- He will use the in-house capabilities i.e. systems and engineering to expand the operational capability on each mine site to build a successful team to run the facility all the way from placing bulk fuel and lubes orders, managing the receipts, dispensing and storage of fuel, manage the maintenance of the fuel farm and the management system and reconcile fuel on a continuous basis.
- He will build a team per site. The team will ultimately consist of a few “expats” (higher skilled management) who will operate on a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) basis as well as appointing a number of local people who will do daily routines on site such as admin, technical and operational functions. A team could typically consist of
- Administrators
- 2 or 3 technicians
- Fuel attendants
- Site managers
- The person
- An ambitious self starter who can build a team
- Prepared to travel into Africa and spend time on sites setting up and inspecting operations
- Strong technical or logistics experience with a proven track record in managing business processes
- The package
- Base package in the region of R70 k per month
- Daily travel incentive – of approximately R900 per day
- Performance incentive based on turnover, debtors and performance
