Introduction

Do you enjoy being the person who makes the ERP and the warehouse floor work as one? INUKA is moving its warehouse from manual processes to a fully automated operation and is looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to own the link between Odoo, the automation equipment and the people who use them.

About INUKA

INUKA is a proudly South African, Member-based direct-selling business that develops and supplies fragrances, cosmetics and personal-care products. The business is growing at around 50% a year and delivers same-day locally, in bulk and across borders. Its BizTech team runs the Odoo ERP and the integration layer that connects it to scanning, conveyors, pick/put-to-light, robotics and WMS/WCS – so this is a chance to shape a warehouse automation programme while it is being built.

About the job

Reporting to the ERP Manager, you will translate warehouse, sales, manufacturing and finance requirements into functional and integration specifications, and be accountable for system outputs such as inventory accuracy, pick accuracy and order throughput. The role suits a hands-on analyst who has delivered warehouse automation before and is comfortable on the warehouse floor as well as in a requirements workshop.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Warehouse automation and integration

  • Act as functional lead for integrating Odoo with warehouse automation (WCS/WES, conveyors, scanning, pick/put-to-light, robotics and sortation)
  • Define data-flow requirements, message handshakes, exception handling and reconciliation rules between ERP, WMS/WCS and equipment
  • Design future-state automated warehouse processes, from receiving to dispatch, and make sure they are configured correctly
  • Take part in vendor selection, FAT/SAT, commissioning, go-live and hypercare for each automation phase

2. System alignment and output ownership

  • Keep ERP configuration (locations, routes, put-away/removal strategies, barcodes, lots) aligned with physical operations
  • Reconcile ERP stock and transactions against physical and automation data daily, and drive root-cause resolution of variances
  • Own system-related risks to same-day, bulk and cross-border order SLAs

3. Analysis, design and testing

  • Run workshops, interviews and shop-floor observation to elicit and prioritise requirements, and assess the impact of changes
  • Write functional and integration specifications, data mappings and user stories with clear acceptance criteria, and build prototypes
  • Develop test plans and lead UAT, including simulated peak-volume runs before each go-live

4. Support, partners and change

  • Act as L2/L3 escalation point for ERP and automation-integration issues and lead problem management
  • Manage the functional deliverables of ERP and automation partners (statements of work, acceptance, defects, knowledge transfer)
  • Define the device, network and environment needs of each automation phase with the System Administrator and developers
  • Develop SOPs and training, build a warehouse super-user network and drive adoption

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
  • Degree or diploma in Information Systems/IT, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain & Logistics Management or a related field
  • 8+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst or ERP Functional Consultant, of which at least 5 years in a warehousing, distribution or supply-chain-driven environment
  • 5+ years' hands-on ERP experience in the inventory/warehouse/logistics domain (Odoo strongly preferred; SAP EWM/WM, Dynamics 365 SCM, NetSuite or Sage X3 with a WMS considered)
  • End-to-end involvement in at least one warehouse automation programme, from requirements through testing, go-live and stabilisation
  • Proven experience in process mapping (BPMN), requirements, user stories, test design and leading UAT, and in specifying and testing integrations (APIs, EDI, middleware)
  • Valid driver's licence and own car (the role travels between INUKA sites)

Advantageous

  • Odoo functional certification (or equivalent ERP certification)
  • Business analysis (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA), supply chain (APICS CSCP, CLTD), Agile/Scrum or ITIL 4 certification
  • FMCG, wholesale, e-commerce or 3PL experience, including same-day, bulk and cross-border/export fulfilment
  • SQL and BI tools (e.g. Power BI) for KPI and data analysis
  • Experience managing implementation partners and building super-user networks

Location & Employment Type

Permanent, full-time, on-site position based at INUKA on Mill Road, Bellville, Cape Town, with daily presence in the warehouse/distribution centre and travel between INUKA sites. Standby is required for critical incidents, cut-overs, go-lives and peak trading periods.

Package & Remuneration

A competitive, market-related salary will be offered in line with experience and the level of responsibility.

This is an Employment Equity position. Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in line with INUKA's Employment Equity plan.
