An established industrial and technical services business is seeking an experienced Business Operations Manager to take responsibility for the overall operational, financial, technical and people-management functions of the business.
- This is a senior management appointment suited to an individual who combines strong commercial and financial understanding with practical technical / workshop management experience.
- The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and will ultimately be expected to take significant responsibility for the overall performance, development and day-to-day management of the business.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day operation of the business.
- Manage and coordinate workshop, technical, administrative and support functions.
- Provide strong financial and commercial oversight of the business.
- Monitor revenue, costs, margins, budgets, expenditure and overall profitability.
- Review operational performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Lead, manage and develop departmental managers, supervisors and operational teams.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, productivity and accountability across the business.
- Oversee workshop planning, production/service activities, quality and turnaround times.
- Ensure work is completed according to required technical, quality and customer standards.
- Provide practical technical and operational guidance to management and employees.
- Identify operational risks and implement appropriate solutions.
- Maintain effective quality management and continuous-improvement processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant company policies, procedures, quality standards and applicable legislation.
- Maintain a strong focus on occupational health and safety.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Manage relationships with key industrial and commercial customers.
- Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, contractors and service providers.
- Assist with business development and identify opportunities for sustainable business growth.
- Prepare and review operational, financial and management reports.
