- The City of Cape Town seeks to appoint a highly analytical and strategically focused Business Intelligence Research Analyst to drive evidence-based decision-making, organizational intelligence, performance improvement and service innovation across the Corporate Services Directorate.
- The role combines research, strategic analysis, business intelligence, governance insight, monitoring and evaluation, innovation and change enablement to support executive decision making and directorate-wide integration initiatives.
- Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Research Methodology, Statistics, Information Systems, Strategic Management, Economics, Public Administration, Public Policy, Organizational Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies or related field
- Master's Degree in a relevant discipline would be preferred
- 5 – 8 years' or more relevant experience in business intelligence, strategic research and analysis, organizational performance, governance, monitoring and evaluation, data analytics or organizational improvement
- Experience in executive reporting, business case development, stakeholder facilitation, dashboarding, research pipelines, analytical tools such as Power BI or Superset, and strategic / governance support environments.
Key Performance Areas
- Conduct research, investigations and data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making within the Corporate Services Directorate
- Participate in stakeholder forums and engage with internal and external partners to support strategic objectives
- Identify and drive strategic collaboration opportunities aligned to the Directorate's Strategic Management Framework and operational objectives
- Analyse political, economic, social, technological, legislative and environmental trends to support business intelligence and strategic planning
- Develop and manage a research pipeline to prioritise and coordinate research initiatives aligned to organisational priorities
- Develop business cases and identify opportunities to enhance performance, governance, risk management and operational integration across the Directorate
- Develop business intelligence reports and data visualizations to support evidence-based decision-making
- Drive change management processes to facilitate the successful implementation of research recommendations and business improvements
- Develop and maintain centralised research repositories to facilitate knowledge sharing and access to information
- Utilise Power BI, Superset and related tools in collaboration with the Data Science Department to identify improvement opportunities and drive innovation.
- Provide administrative support and prepare reports, analyses and presentations to support effective governance and decision-making
