Business Intelligence Analyst (IT Support / BI Support Analyst)

Introduction

A large food manufacturer situated in Montague Gardens Cape Town is seeking a dynamic BI Analyst to join their team.

• Purpose of the Role

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for providing operational system support, ensuring data integrity, and delivering accurate reporting to support business decision-making. The role focuses on troubleshooting system issues, supporting users across key platforms, and improving processes through automation and system enhancements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities

User Support and System Support

• Provide support for Syspro, Translution, Microsoft 365, and Qlik Sense.

• Maintain support documentation and assist users with technical queries.

• Investigate and resolve system issues with root cause analysis.

Reporting and Business Intelligence

• Develop / maintain reports using Power BI, and Excel

• Engage users to define reporting requirements.

• Support Excel reporting and ODBC connections.

• Develop / maintain reports using QlicCloud/View (Triage).

Data Integrity and Database Support

• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.

• Support SQL investigations and data validation.

• Assist with master data maintenance and bulk uploads.

System Access and User Lifecycle Management

• Manage onboarding/offboarding via service providers.

• Review user accounts across all applications to ensure all licenses no longer in use are terminated.

• Ensure proper access controls and documentation.

EDI and 3 rd Party Integration

• Support users with EDI integration and assist with data integrity and error remediation.

• Support users with e-commerce connectivity including data structure to ensure correct items are made available for e-commerce.

SharePoint and File Management

• Support SharePoint libraries, and permissions,

• Improve file management practices.

• Implement and manage version control.

Translution Support

• Provide support for Translution operations and reporting.

• Be familiar with and enhance on Translution reporting.

Process Improvement and Automation

• Identify inefficiencies and implement automation solutions.

• Investigate workflows and recommend system improvements.

• Review in-use applications and implement procedure to use similar facilities from  pre-existing applications.

• Finance and Cost Awareness

• Involvement with the budgeting process for IT costs

• Be cost aware regarding implementation of systems

• Be cost aware of costs regarding reporting tools

• Understand costs regarding application implementation and assist in managing costs regarding user requests.

• Infrastructure and Security Awareness

• Understand WAN/LAN fundamentals.

• Understand and know the details of service providers

• Apply security best practices and understand firewall principles.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum Requirements

IT or Business-related qualification and general experience in Information Technology with a strong focus on BI and support environments.

• Technical Skills

• Excel, Power BI, Qlik Sense

• Intermediate SQL

• ODBC connectivity

• Microsoft 365 tools

• Basic networking and security understanding

Package & Remuneration

R30 000.00 to R35 000.00
