Business Development Manager - Electricity / Water Metering

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our sales team within the public utilities metering sector .

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development and sales of electricity metering solutions and products to public utility customers, with a particular focus on municipalities . The role will involve identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding the company’s presence within the electricity metering market.

Based in Cape Town , the successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Electricity / Electricity Business Unit Manager .

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and grow business opportunities with municipalities, public utilities and other public-sector entities within the electricity metering sector.

• Identify and manage tenders, RFQs and RFPs , coordinating the preparation and submission of competitive proposals.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal stakeholders, procurement teams, technical departments and key decision-makers.

• Provide technical and commercial guidance on electricity metering solutions, including preparing quotations and negotiating commercial terms.

• Manage the sales pipeline and customer accounts , from initial prospecting through to order processing, delivery, reporting and after-sales support

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum 3- 5 years proven business development sales track record within the public sector.

• The ability to handle and influence customers’ expectations.

• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.

• Willingness to travel extensively.

• Valid drivers license and own vehicle
