Duties & Responsibilities

Job Position: Business Development Manager: Corporate Training

Ref: 5275

Location: Remote (Field-based / On-the-road for client engagements)

Salary: R15 000 to R20 000 per month negotiable commensurate with qualification and experience + commission, travel reimbursement and cellphone allowance

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8AM to 5PM / Friday 8 AM to 3PM

This position requires a strategic, high-energy hunter who can aggressively target the corporate sector, generate a pipeline completely from scratch, and close new business.

The ideal candidate does not just "sell courses"—they act as a sophisticated commercial advisor. You must possess the business acumen to conduct deep organizational needs analyses, lead complex B2B consultations, ask high-impact questions, and expertly identify training and compliance gaps that our solution suite can solve

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate (Compulsory).
  • A B-Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field is highly advantageous
  • Valid, unendorsed Code B (Code 08) Driver’s License and a reliable personal vehicle (non-negotiable)
  • Essential Industry Knowledge
  • B-BBEE compliance: Non-negotiable, expert-level knowledge of the B-BBEE codes within corporate settings, specifically how Skills development spend impacts a company's scorecard
  • Accreditation frameworks: Sound, practical knowledge of the South African legislative landscape, including SETA and QCTO frameworks, WSP (Workplace Skills Plans), and ATR (Annual Training Reports) solutions

  • Natural Born Hunter: An intrinsic drive for cold-calling, unlocking closed doors, and hunting for fresh business
  • Consultative Articulacy: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to command respect from corporate executives
  • Active Listening: A sharp ability to listen to what is not being said by a client to map back tailored training solutions
  • Self-Starter Autonomy: Highly disciplined to operate independently in a fully remote environment, keeping energy levels high without daily supervision

Key Performance Areas

Business Development and Pure Hunting (70%)

  • Pipeline generation: Prospect, cold-call, and identify new B2B opportunities to build an active, lucrative client list completely from scratch
  • Field sales and promotions: Physically travel to prospective corporate clients to pitch, promote, market, and sell the organization's training portfolios
  • Client education: Act as a subject-matter expert to educate corporate decision-makers (CEO’s, HR Directors, and Skills Development Facilitators) on the mechanics and corporate benefits of various training programs
  • Networking: Actively attend industry events, conferences, and corporate networking forums to elevate brand presence and capture new leads

Strategic Consultative Selling and Needs Analysis (20%)

  • Gap identification: Utilize an exceptional listening ear to diagnose client pain points, skill gaps, and compliance shortfalls
  • Curriculum and opportunity creation: Conduct rigorous needs analyses to uncover opportunities for the provider to design and launch customized, new corporate training programs
  • Conversation leadership: Dominate the consultative process by asking the right diagnostic questions, guiding clients seamlessly from initial interest to commercial sign-off

Sales Administration and CRM Maintenance (10%)

  • Database management: Systematically maintain and update the company's prospective, active, and dormant client lists
  • Rigorous follow-ups: Execute structured, persistent follow-up strategies for all prospects to maximize conversion rates
