Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Richards Bay
Our client is a Health and Safety integrated solutions provider focused on streamlined onboarding, enhanced safety learning, and managing SHEQ compliance for Corporates, Contractors, and their Employees. Their goal is to assist organizations in creating a culture of safety that protects stakeholders and supports sustainable operations for long-term success.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will be primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities from both new and existing clients, while gaining a thorough understanding of client needs and recommending appropriate products and services to meet their requirements.
The Business Development Manager will also oversee the effective management of sales activities within their designated region, with a strong focus on achieving business objectives and maintaining long-term customer relationships. This will be supported through effective people management, sound administrative practices, and strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Role Responsibility will also includes
- Drive brand visibility and market dominance while achieving sustainable business growth within the designated region.
- Develop strategic business development plans, including sales forecasts, revenue targets, and growth projections.
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base and increase revenue.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding customer requirements and consistently delivering exceptional service.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure business objectives are achieved, including sales targets, service requirements, and profitability goals.
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive business strategy focused on sustainable growth, customer satisfaction, and positive client feedback.
- Conduct high-level industry and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights that support the development of effective sales strategies.
- Maintain and manage a healthy pipeline of prospective and existing client engagements, ensuring all opportunities are accurately recorded and actively managed in accordance with the CRM system.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
- Matric/Grade 12, together with a relevant three-year tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
Experience & Competencies
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Previous experience within the mining, construction, and/or petrochemical industries will be highly advantageous.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
- Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed established sales targets and business objectives.
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant CRM systems.
- Strong customer service, client relationship management, and business development skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Willingness and ability to travel as required by the role.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle.
