Business Development Engineer

An exciting opportunity is available for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Engineer to join a growing automation and systems integration environment. This role is suited to a technically minded sales professional who can identify new opportunities, build strong client relationships and sell complex automation solutions from initial engagement through to contract award. Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across automation, intralogistics and material handling markets

• Build and manage the sales pipeline, driving opportunities through the full sales cycle.

• Develop relationships with new and existing customers and identify opportunities for growth

• Understand customer challenges and develop commercially viable technical solutions

• Work with engineering and project teams to develop proposals, concepts and commercial offers

• Present automation and systems integration solutions to customers and stakeholders

• Negotiate commercial terms and drive opportunities through to contract award

• Monitor market trends, competitors and emerging technologies

• Achieve business development and sales targets

Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years’ experience in business development, technical sales or solution sales

• Proven track record of developing new business and achieving sales targets

• Experience selling technical solutions, capital equipment or engineered systems

• Automation, material handling, intralogistics or related industry experience advantageous

• Strong commercial, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills

• Ability to understand technical requirements and communicate solutions commercially

• Self-motivated, proactive and able to take ownership of the full sales process

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems

• Willingness to travel to customer sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation or a related technical field

• Additional technical qualifications advantageous
