Business / Data Analyst (iOCO0108)

Job Description

• We are looking for an experienced Business / Data Analyst with strong expertise in data contracts, data lineage and data integration.
• The successful candidate will work closely with Solution and Data Architects across multiple projects to define and document how data is structured, exchanged and integrated across systems. A key focus of the role will be establishing clear data contracts and documenting end-to-end data flows and lineage to ensure consistency, traceability and alignment across the technology landscape.

What you'll do

• Work closely with Data, Solution and Enterprise Architects across various projects to understand data requirements and integration points.
• Define, document and maintain data contracts between systems, applications and data platforms.
• Map and document end-to-end data lineage, including data sources, transformations, integrations and target systems.
• Analyse existing data flows and identify gaps, dependencies, inconsistencies and potential integration risks.
• Document data integration requirements, interfaces, mappings and transformation rules.
• Facilitate discussions between business, architecture, development and data teams to ensure a common understanding of data requirements.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear data specifications and supporting documentation.
• Support the definition of data standards, terminology and governance requirements across projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system-to-system integrations and data movement.
• Assist project teams in understanding the impact of changes to upstream and downstream systems.
• Support architects and technical teams during solution design, development and implementation.
• Ensure data requirements and integration documentation remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Expertise

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst or Technical Business Analyst within complex technology environments.
• Strong practical experience with data contracts and defining agreements between data producers and consumers.
• Strong understanding of data lineage and the ability to document data movement from source through transformation to consumption.
• Experience analysing and documenting data integrations across multiple systems and platforms.
• Ability to understand technical architecture, APIs, databases, data pipelines and integration patterns.
• Experience creating data mappings, interface specifications, process flows and technical documentation.
• Strong requirements gathering, analysis and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively with architects, developers, data engineers, business stakeholders and project teams.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience working within enterprise data environments or large transformation programmes.
• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Understanding of APIs, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, data lakes and integration platforms.
• Experience with data governance, metadata management or master data management.
• Familiarity with modelling or documentation tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Confluence, Enterprise Architect or similar.
• SQL knowledge and the ability to interrogate or understand data structures would be advantageous.
