A leading South African financial institution is seeking an experienced Business Architect – Security to develop and maintain its security business architecture landscape and support the implementation of strategic physical security infrastructure, solutions and technologies.

This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced Business Architect / Security Architect who can translate business and security strategy into practical architecture, roadmaps and implementation frameworks.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for

• Developing and maintaining the business architecture landscape, including security taxonomies and Security Reference Models (SRM).

• Directing the implementation of business capabilities, products and services in support of organisational strategy.

• Developing business capabilities in terms of key processes and information requirements.

• Developing and implementing security architecture roadmaps to achieve target-state architectures.

• Developing foundation, reference and strategic-level architectures incorporating security frameworks, threat identification, trust frameworks and domain frameworks.

• Developing portfolio architecture and implementation roadmaps to guide programme delivery.

• Defining target architectures aligned to security policies and strategies, including documenting current-state environments and conducting detailed gap analyses between current and future states.

• Governing the implementation of architecture roadmaps.

• Supporting the formulation, translation and execution of business strategy to achieve targeted business outcomes.

• Producing diagnostic and actionable architecture deliverables to support investment and strategic decision-making.

• Ensuring alignment between business architecture, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, architecture principles and ICT standards.

• Making recommendations on key architecture decisions.

• Participating in business and enterprise architecture governance structures.

• Ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements while identifying and mitigating architecture-related risks.

• Identifying integration requirements across the organisation and developing target architectures to support business integration.

• Analysing business and operating models, market trends and technology developments to assess their impact on business strategy and architecture.

• Consulting with infrastructure, project and product teams to ensure continued alignment with the business architecture.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have

\uD83C\uDF93 Honours degree in BCom Informatics, BSc Computer Science, BSc Engineering or a related field, supplemented by relevant industry certifications or an equivalent qualification.

\uD83D\uDCDC SABSA certification – Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture.

\uD83D\uDCDC TOGAF certification – The Open Group Architecture Framework.

\uD83D\uDCBC 8–10 years' relevant experience in Business Architecture and/or Domain Architecture.

\uD83D\uDD10 At least 5 years' experience within a Security Business Architecture environment .

KEY TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Strong knowledge and practical experience in

• Business modelling and capability mapping

• Business attribute profiling

• Business service design and management

• Threat and risk analysis methodologies
