About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Feature Analyst who is currently hands-on in an Agile delivery environment. You'll partner with Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects, Engineers and Test Analysts to translate business objectives into well-defined Features, Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria that deliver real business value.

This is a practising analyst role — we're looking for someone whose day-to-day work is feature analysis, not someone who has moved into a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Delivery Lead or Project Management function.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and document business, customer and operational requirements.

• Translate business needs into Features, Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.

• Conduct impact, dependency, gap and process analysis.

• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagements and backlog refinement sessions.

• Support feature prioritisation and backlog management.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineering and Testing teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Validate that delivered solutions meet business objectives and customer needs.

• Identify opportunities for business process improvement and operational optimisation.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis and delivery practices.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum 5 years' experience working in Agile delivery environments.

• Minimum 4 years' experience in Feature Analysis, Functional Analysis, Systems Analysis or Business Analysis.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in:

• Feature discovery and analysis

• Requirements elicitation

• Feature decomposition

• User Story creation

• Acceptance Criteria definition

• Backlog refinement

• Impact and dependency analysis

• Stakeholder facilitation

• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, Confluence and related delivery tools.

• Financial Services experience is advantageous.

Highly Advantageous

• Business Process Analysis and Process Mapping.

• Process Re-engineering and Operational Optimisation initiatives.

• Customer Journey Mapping and Process Improvement.

• Experience supporting automation, digitisation or transformation initiatives where existing processes were redesigned to improve customer experience, efficiency, risk management or operational effectiveness.

Critical Requirements

• Cape Town Based: You must be permanently based in Cape Town and available for onsite workshops and stakeholder engagements when required.

• Current Hands-On Feature Analyst: You must currently be performing Feature Analysis activities as part of your day-to-day role. Your analysis experience needs to be current, not historical — if you've spent the last 1–2 years operating primarily as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Delivery Lead, Project Manager or Product Owner, this role is not the right fit.
