Business Analyst

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a significant data migration and systems modernisation project in Pretoria.

This is an office-based contract position in Pretoria , commencing as soon as possible and ending on 31 July 2027 .

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will analyse business needs, assess operating and business models, define and map processes, and support the integration of business requirements with technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business operations, requirements and supporting systems.

• Facilitate the gathering, analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements.

• Assess business models and their integration with technology.

• Contribute to strategic planning, operating-model analysis and technical analysis.

• Define, document and improve business processes.

• Develop current-state and future-state process maps.

• Support data migration activities, including data cleansing, validation, standardisation and deduplication.

• Assist with the consolidation of decentralised data into a centralised repository.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, data specialists and other project participants.

• Support application and open-platform integration.

• Ensure requirements and proposed solutions align with relevant enterprise architecture practices, frameworks and standards.

• Contribute to the successful implementation and deployment of the new system and its remaining modules.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum requirements

• A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Business Analyst .

• A three-year National Diploma at NQF Level 6 , or a higher qualification, in an ICT-related field such as:

• Information Technology

• Computer Science

• Information Systems

• A recognised Business Analysis Certification aligned with the standards of the International Institute of Business Analysis and the BABOK Guide.

Required knowledge and experience

• Sound knowledge and understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle methodology .

• Strong business analysis and process-mapping capability.

• Experience with application integration.

• Open-platform experience.

• Understanding of enterprise architecture practices, methodologies, frameworks and standards, including:

• TOGAF

• ITIL

• COBIT

• MISS

• MIOS

• GWEA

• Understanding of the cadastral environment.

• Ability to think strategically and translate complex business needs into clear, practical requirements.
