Great North Transport (in partnership with HEITHA), a leading passenger transport service provider in the Limpopo Province invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following TEMPORARY challenging position at Great North Transport in Polokwane.
Duties & Responsibilities
The main responsibility is to get passengers to their destination safely and on time.
Other activities
- Conducting pre and post route inspections of vehicles.
- Follow traffic laws and employer safety rules while driving.
- Collecting fares from passengers.
- Assisting passenger who need help getting on and off the bus.
- Remaining in communication with dispatcher throughout a shift.
- Completing paperwork to report accidents, vehicle problems and other issues.
- Cleaning the bus interior as needed.
- Answering questions about bus routes, transfers, stops and fares.
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 10
- Driver licence (code EC and PDP)
- Five years hands on Bus driving experience
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Safe driving record.
- Basic maths skills to calculate fares and collect payment.
- Active listening skills to carry instructions.
Package & Remuneration
An hourly rate will apply.
