- RPO Recruitment's client, an established consulting engineering firm in Cape Town is seeking a Building Services Mechanical Engineer specialising in Fire Engineering to join its Fire Department.
- This opportunity would suit an engineer with experience in fire engineering who is ready to take the next step in their career.
- The role offers exposure to a variety of multidisciplinary building projects across South Africa and internationally, with the opportunity to take on increasing project responsibility and potentially progress into a Head of Department position.
Requirements
- A BTech/BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA essential.
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience in fire engineering within a building services consulting environment.
- Knowledge of fire safety design principles and applicable South African standards.
- Experience with SANS deemed-to-satisfy and rational fire safety design approaches.
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment, fire sprinkler systems, smoke evacuation and stairwell pressurisation systems.
- Experience in thermal modelling will be advantageous.
- Strong project coordination, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Afrikaans proficiency essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
