Our client, a well-established Western Cape hardware retail group, is opening a new branch and needs an experienced Branch Manager. You will take full responsibility for setting up and running the branch, from opening day onwards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Run the branch as a business: turnover, gross profit, expenses and stock losses
- Recruit, train and lead the branch team, including department heads
- Manage stock levels, ordering and stock-take results
- Build trade and contractor accounts in the area
- Keep merchandising, customer service and housekeeping at group standard
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements, cash-handling procedures and company policy
- Report to regional management on branch performance
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements
- Matric (essential); a retail or business management qualification is an advantage
- At least 5 years' branch management experience in hardware, building materials or DIY retail
- Proven track record of meeting turnover and gross-profit targets
- Strong knowledge of building materials and hardware product ranges
- Experience setting up a new branch is an advantage
- Computer literate (MS Office and point-of-sale/ERP systems)
- Valid driver's licence and own transport
- Available to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
Package & Remuneration
R40 000 – R50 000 + performance bonus CTC
