The role includes maintaining financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling accounts, assisting with payroll, preparing VAT submissions, liaising with customers and suppliers, and supporting the preparation of financial reports in concert with auditors. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining organised and compliant financial systems while supporting the overall financial health of the company. Detail: Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree preferred) Minimum 2 years' experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial record keeping, VAT calculations and submissions Ability to prepare bank reconciliations, trial balances, and basic financial reports (including P&L); experience managing accounts for multiple entities is advantageous Proficiency in accounting software as well as MS Office (Excel and Word); high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently while handling confidential financial information Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential The successful candidate will be responsible for: Processing and recording invoices and supplier payments accurately and timeously. Preparing and managing customer and supplier statements. Performing monthly bank reconciliations. Maintaining and updating the trial balance. Assisting with the preparation of Profit & Loss statements. Managing and preparing VAT submissions for three companies. Maintaining accurate financial records and organised filing systems. Assisting with general bookkeeping and financial administration. Supporting the preparation of financial reports in collaboration with auditors. Ensuring compliance and accuracy in all financial transactions and records across multiple entities.
