Bookkeeper / Accountant

Introduction

A busy accounting practice in Victory Park is seeking a full time Bookkeeper / Accountant to perform a range of duties for a number of its clients on Pastel Partner or Sage Accounting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Full-function bookkeeping and accounting duties

• Processing and reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable

• Bank, creditor, debtor and general ledger reconciliations

• Preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records

• Preparation and maintenance of the fixed asset register

• Preparation and maintenance of month-end and year-end journals

• Presentation of template management accounts to clients

• VAT submissions and statutory compliance

• Preparation of payroll and submissions to SARS, UIF and the Compensation Commissioner

• Liaising with auditors, accountants and external stakeholders

Desired Experience & Qualification

• At least 5 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting duties

• Proven experience in an Accountant or Accounting Manager role

• Strong accounting and bookkeeping knowledge

• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations and VAT

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Reliable, professional and able to work independently

• Experience in Pastel or Sage is an advantage

• Relevant finance qualifications are advantageous but not essential

Package & Remuneration

Salary is market related and dependent on experience and level of expertise.
