Bookkeeper / Accountant

A well-established company in the East Rand is seeking a Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant  to join their finance team. Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Relevant Finance or Accounting qualification advantageous

• 3–5 years' experience in a finance administration, cashbook or accounts payable role

• Experience with bank reconciliations and creditor reconciliations

• Strong understanding of accounting principles

• Experience with payment processing and cash flow planning

• Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience on an ERP or accounting system

• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Key Responsibilities

• Capture, maintain and reconcile daily cashbook transactions

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding or suspense transactions

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries

• Manage accounts payable and perform monthly creditor reconciliations

• Ensure supplier statements reconcile with the accounts payable ledger

• Process supplier payments accurately and within agreed deadlines

• Prepare monthly payment schedules and assist with cash flow planning

• Distribute proof of payments to suppliers and the accounts payable department

• Manage intercompany account reconciliations

• Assist with banking administration and financial record keeping

• Support accounts receivable and stock administration where required

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on stock, cash flow and financial information

• Ensure all finance-related documentation is accurate, complete and filed correctly

• Work closely with internal departments to ensure efficient financial operations
