- The Trainee Boiler Training Officer will be responsible for preparing, developing and presenting technical training programmes relating to the operation, maintenance and management of shell boilers and boiler ancillary equipment.
- The successful candidate must be willing to travel locally and internationally for extended periods when required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Willing to travel
- Grade 12
- Valid driver's license
- Boiler Attendance Certificate
- N2 or N3 Mechanical Engineering qualification advantageous
- Computer literacy
Minimum Experience
- At least five years' experience as a Boiler Operator
- At least two years' experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor
- Boiler operation and maintenance experience
- Experience supervising or coaching boiler personnel advantageous
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in an additional South African language advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, compile and update boiler training materials.
- Ensure training content remains technically accurate and relevant.
- Stay informed about boiler products, technologies and industry developments.
- Present theoretical and practical boiler training courses.
- Train boiler operators on boiler operation, maintenance and management.
- Evaluate trainees attending boiler training programs.
- Compile and administer theoretical and practical assessments.
- Mark and evaluate trainee assessments.
- Prepare and submit trainee assessment reports.
- Identify the training needs of boiler users and operating personnel.
- Provide technical guidance to trainees and customers.
- Promote and market available boiler training courses.
- Prepare, submit and follow up on training quotations.
- Maintain accurate training, attendance and assessment records.
- Ensure training equipment remains operational and properly maintained.
- Ensure training facilities, equipment and buildings are kept clean and orderly.
- Interact professionally with customers, trainees and technical personnel.
- Travel to customer sites to provide training when required.
