- Cutting and preparing lamb and other meat products according to required specifications
- Operating a band saw, particularly for lamb cutting
- Operating a meat mincer and sausage stuffer
- Assisting with sausage production
- Assisting with the production of biltong and droëwors
- Maintaining high standards of product quality, hygiene and food safety
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas
- Assisting with general butchery production and customer service as required
- Working efficiently to meet daily production requirements
CRITERIA
- Previous experience as a Blockman or in a commercial butchery environment
- Good practical knowledge of different meat cuts
- Experience operating a band saw, mincer and sausage stuffer
- Experience with sausage, biltong and droëwors production
- Good understanding of butchery hygiene and food-handling practices
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
- Sober habits are essential
- Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays
- Living in Grabouw, Botrivier or the surrounding area is essential
