Blockman / Butchery Assistant – Cape Town

Position Details • Position: Blockman • Location: Cape Town • Start Date: Immediately • Working Hours: Monday – Saturday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM • Salary: Competitive, based on experience  Responsibilities • Cutting, trimming and preparing various cuts of beef, lamb, pork and chicken. • Preparing meat according to customer and order specifications. • Maintaining high standards of product quality and presentation. • Assisting with packing and preparing wholesale and retail orders. • Keeping work areas, equipment and cutting areas clean and hygienic. • Following proper food safety and handling procedures. • Assisting customers with meat selections and providing product knowledge when required. • Ensuring stock is handled, stored and rotated correctly. • Working efficiently as part of a team in a busy butchery environment. ✅ Requirements • Previous experience as a Blockman or in a professional butchery environment. • Good knowledge of South African meat cuts. • Strong knife skills and ability to work safely with cutting equipment. • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. • Reliable, punctual and hardworking. • Able to work efficiently under pressure. • Good communication and customer service skills. • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods. • Contactable references. ⭐ What We Offer • Competitive remuneration based on experience. • A stable position within an established family-run business. • A friendly and hardworking team environment. • Opportunity to grow with our expanding retail and wholesale operations.
