Billings Analyst

Introduction

Our client is a well-established organisation seeking an experienced   Billing Analyst   to join their team in Johannesburg.

This is a   highly analytical billing role   suited to someone who enjoys working with large datasets, investigating discrepancies, identifying revenue leakage and turning billing information into meaningful business insights.

The ideal candidate will have experience beyond transactional billing and will be able to analyse billing performance, identify trends and variances, investigate root causes and provide recommendations that improve billing accuracy, controls and processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyse billing data and large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and areas of concern.

• Investigate billing variances and determine the root causes of discrepancies.

• Identify and quantify potential   revenue leakage .

• Conduct detailed trend, variance and exception analysis.

• Perform comprehensive reconciliations of billing data to validate accuracy and completeness.

• Identify billing errors, control weaknesses and process gaps.

• Recommend corrective actions and process improvements to strengthen billing controls.

• Prepare detailed billing analysis, reconciliation and exception reports.

• Quantify the potential financial impact of billing discrepancies and anomalies.

• Provide management with meaningful billing insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

• Analyse billing performance and highlight risks, opportunities and areas requiring management attention.

• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to investigate and resolve complex billing issues.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the billing environment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Relevant tertiary qualification in   Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics   or a related field.

• Proven experience in a   Billing Analyst, Revenue Analyst, Financial Analyst or similar analytical role .

• Strong experience working with   large datasets and complex billing information .

• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed reconciliations, variance analysis and root-cause investigations.

• Experience identifying revenue leakage and quantifying financial discrepancies will be highly advantageous.

• Advanced   Microsoft Excel   skills are essential.

• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies within large volumes of data.

• Ability to translate complex billing information into clear, meaningful management insights.

• Strong reporting and communication skills.
