Cold Storage | Warehousing & Logistics Operations
Reports to: Warehouse Lead / Distribution Centre Manager
Role Purpose
The Battery Bay Operator is responsible for the safe charging, maintenance, monitoring, and replacement of batteries used in Material Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring operational readiness and equipment availability at all times.
The role is accountable for maintaining battery charging stations, monitoring battery performance, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The incumbent will also provide general maintenance support and assist with operational activities within the Cold Store and Warehouse environment as required.
This role plays an important part in supporting operational productivity, equipment uptime, safety compliance, and continuous warehouse operations.

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) - Essential
Hoist Operator Certificate - Essential
Valid Forklift License - Essential
Minimum of 2 to 3 years' work experience within Warehouse Operations
Experience working within a Material Handling Equipment environment
Cold Storage Operations (advantageous)
