Duties & Responsibilities

Core Experience (Non-Negotiable)

2–3 years of experience specifically supporting trading systems. This is the most critical requirement. It is not general IT support; it must be within a trading environment

Experience in the Markets value chain. You must have worked with or supported the following business areas:

Trading l Treasury l Sales l Operations l Finance l Market Risk

Financial Product & Domain Knowledge

You must have practical experience with the specific financial instruments and concepts traded by the business:

Money Markets and FX (Foreign Exchange) products

Finance basics, specifically

Value of money

Cash flow discounting

Curve valuation

Resolving accounting and PNL (Profit and Loss) issues. This indicates you need to understand how trades translate into financial records and reports.

Technical & Analytical Experience

Data Analysis : Experience analysing and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative data to inform system design and implementation.

SQL (Structured Query Language): Listed under technical knowledge, this is a must-have for querying databases and troubleshooting.

Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects and participating in projects throughout the lifecycle (from requirements gathering to handover).

Business Process Improvement: A proven track record of identifying opportunities to improve business processes and systems and driving efficiency.

Stakeholder & Communication Experience

Cross-functional stakeholder management : Experience building relationships and managing stakeholders across technical teams and business teams (Trading, Risk, Finance).

Communicating complex information : Experience explaining technical or complex financial information clearly, both orally and in writing.

Eliciting and validating requirements: Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.

Coordinating and securing buy-in: Experience getting approval and support from internal stakeholders for new processes or system changes.

Governance & Risk

Security and Regulatory Compliance: Experience managing the security and regulatory compliance of trading systems.

Risk Management: Experience developing ways to minimize risk.

Business Continuity : Experience implementing robust solutions to ensure business continuity.

"I have 2–3 years of hands-on experience supporting trading systems (specifically FX and Money Markets) within a bank or financial institution. I understand the full trade lifecycle, can resolve PNL and accounting issues, and have used SQL to analyse data. I am comfortable managing cross-functional stakeholders and ensuring these systems remain compliant and stable."

Note on Qualifications : While the qualification (BSc/BCom/BTech) is essential, the 2–3 years of trading system support experience is the filter that will likely determine whether your application is considered.
