This mid-level opportunity is suited to an experienced developer passionate about building reliable backend solutions, maintaining APIs and developing tools that support business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance and update existing Python-based APIs.
- Prioritise and resolve bugs, implement new features and troubleshoot production issues.
- Work with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and specifications for system enhancements.
- Collaborate with DevOps on releases and deployments to Linux servers.
- Develop new web APIs and contribute to the development of web frontends where required.
- Assist with architectural design and technical scoping for new development projects.
- Create and maintain internal documentation for APIs and related systems.
- Liaise with marketing and media teams regarding client-facing documentation and technical content.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 6 years of programming experience.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience working with Python.
- At least 3 years of database experience.
- Strong knowledge of Python 3, databases and security.
- The ability to troubleshoot, debug and maintain production backend systems.
Advantageous Skills
- Linux experience.
- PostgreSQL.
- Networking fundamentals.
- SQLAlchemy and Flask.
- uWSGI and Nginx.
- Git version control.
