Introduction

We are looking for an experienced an Advanced   Back-End Developer specialising in Node.js and AWS Serverless technologies to join a high-performing global technology environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, operating and supporting production-ready business applications in a cloud environment. You will work closely with customers, technical teams and external vendors while contributing to modern, scalable and secure software solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong developer who enjoys working with AWS Serverless architecture, cloud-native applications, automated testing, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code .

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate production-ready back-end applications in a 24/7 environment.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions using Node.js and AWS.
  • Develop and maintain serverless applications and APIs.
  • Monitor applications and infrastructure using AWS CloudWatch.
  • Apply cloud security patterns and best practices.
  • Build and maintain automated unit and end-to-end testing.
  • Design, configure and operate CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code and automated deployments.
  • Identify and proactively resolve technical risks and impediments.
  • Collaborate with customers, team members and external vendors.
  • Prepare technical and system documentation.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery.
  • Mentor and coach other team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant IT Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of production experience with Node.js , preferably in serverless environments.
  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS Serverless experience.
  • Strong experience with:
  • AWS Lambda
  • API Gateway
  • DynamoDB
  • SQS / SNS
  • CloudWatch
  • S3
  • Kinesis
  • 3+ years of automated testing experience , including unit and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code , preferably CloudFormation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines , preferably GitHub Actions.
  • Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases .
  • Experience with cloud technologies and cloud-native architecture.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and serverless computing.
  • Experience with virtual networks and communication with on-premise environments.
  • Experience designing, configuring and operating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.
  • Experience with automated deployment and configuration.
  • Experience with monitoring and log analytics.
  • Understanding of software design and architecture patterns .
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments .
  • Demonstrated experience in leading IT teams .

Advantageous Skills

  • Experience with linear and nonlinear optimisation.
  • Experience designing and evaluating efficient algorithms.
  • Knowledge of complexity theory.
  • Performance testing and tuning experience.
  • Experience in e-mobility or related technology environments.
  • Java development experience.
  • AWS Cloud certification, with Developer Associate as a minimum preferred.
