Duties & Responsibilities

A leading organisation within the IT & Internet sector is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer to join its Development and Engineering team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of strategic solutions while contributing to technical direction, best-practice development and the growth of other developers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide technical leadership in the delivery of products and software solutions.

• Contribute to solution architecture and technical implementation decisions.

• Develop, maintain and enhance existing systems while supporting the adoption of new technologies.

• Deliver strategic development projects within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.

• Design and implement robust, scalable back-end solutions.

• Work closely with developers, technical leads, managers and architects.

• Mentor and coach Junior Developers, encouraging knowledge sharing and technical growth.

• Promote and maintain strong software development standards and best practices.

• Participate in testing, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Document systems and technical enhancements to support effective knowledge sharing.

• Work collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum development environment.

What You’ll Need

• A Degree or Diploma in an IT-related field.

• 4–6 years of relevant software development experience .

• Strong commercial experience with C# .

• Experience working within Scrum/Agile environments.

• Experience with SQL Server , including relational database design and complex SQL queries.

• Strong understanding of software development best practices and source-code configuration management.

• Experience with development principles such as SOLID, KISS, TDD, DDD and Clean Coding .

• A strong focus on quality, attention to detail and sustainable development practices.

Advantageous Experience

• .NET Core

• WCF

• Web API

• Azure DevOps / TFS / Git

• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

• Message-queuing technologies such as RabbitMQ, ApacheMQ or Kafka

• Multi-threaded and parallel development

• Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification
