Duties and responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy Azure Functions, Azure Web Apps, and Azure API Management solutions using C# for backend services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between front-end and back-end systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with front-end applications and data visualization tools.
• Monitor and optimize the performance and scalability of backend services to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
• Utilize Azure services such as Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB for data storage and management.
• Design and implement robust data ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure data stores (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB).
• Utilize Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure data services for orchestrating and automating ETL/ELT processes.
• Optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, leveraging Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Monitor ETL/ELT jobs, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure data pipeline reliability and availability.
• Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of processed data.
• 11. Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and design efficient data processing workflows.
• Implement security best practices and data governance policies to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including data encryption and access control, to protect sensitive information.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments and provide timely resolutions.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in Azure cloud computing and data engineering to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Desired experience and qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. • Azure certifications - Azure Developer Associate is a plus. • Azure certification - Azure Data Engineer Associate is a plus Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience developing backend applications using C#. • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions, Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB. The candidate must be capable to cover databases (SQL questions) and Python well. • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs. • Proven experience in designing and implementing data ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or similar. • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in data modelling, data warehousing concepts, and database optimization techniques. • Familiarity with data integration patterns and techniques for handling structured and unstructured data formats. • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing,and CI/CD pipelines. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in production environments. • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
