Repair Shop Assistant – Automotive Industry

1. POSITION DETAILS

Salary: 12k-15k pm, depending on experience

Location: Samrad, Johannesburg

Industry: Automotive

Employment Type:  3 Month Contract

2. CORE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Repair Shop Assistant provides support to technicians and workshop management to ensure the efficient, safe, and professional operation of the repair shop.

The role is responsible for assisting with vehicle preparation, workshop housekeeping, movement and care of customer vehicles, handling tools and equipment, and providing general operational support. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, commitment to safety, and willingness to learn and develop within the automotive environment.

3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate preferred.

• Valid, unendorsed driver's licence preferred.

Work Experience

• Previous experience in an automotive workshop or repair environment

• Experience assisting technicians or performing general workshop duties

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic knowledge of motor vehicles and workshop operations.

• Basic understanding of automotive tools and equipment.

• Ability to follow instructions and workshop procedures.

• Basic communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic computer literacy will be advantageous.

• Ability to work safely and efficiently.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

Package & Remuneration
