This position is responsible for supporting the Workshop Controller in ensuring efficient workshop operations, quality workmanship, technician productivity, customer satisfaction, and compliance with manufacturer standards and health & safety requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating workflow, supervising technical staff, and maintaining high service delivery standards. Detail: Duties include Assisting with the day-to-day control and coordination of workshop activities. Allocating work fairly and effectively to technicians and apprentices. Monitoring repair quality and ensuring work is completed to required standards. Maximising workshop productivity and labour utilisation. Ensuring all parts, materials and consumables are accurately recorded for invoicing. Tracking job progress and ensuring efficient turnaround times. Supporting technician development through coaching and training. Maintaining workshop discipline, safety compliance and housekeeping standards. Overseeing the correct use and care of workshop equipment, tools and diagnostic systems. Liaising with customers and internal departments to resolve technical and service-related matters. Ensuring repair orders, defect coding and workshop documentation are completed accurately. Managing supplier and sublet repair relationships to ensure quality, cost control and timely delivery. Safeguarding customer vehicles, workshop assets and company property. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years plus experience in a Workshop Foreman, Senior Technician, Team Leader or Assistant Workshop Controller role. Diagnostic skills/ability. Strong technical automotive knowledge and diagnostic ability. Technician qualification – Red Seal. Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team of technicians. Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills. Sound understanding of workshop administration and job card processes. Ability to handle customer concerns professionally and effectively. Knowledge of workshop health and safety regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Autoline or similar DMS knowledge Valid driver's licence. Clear Criminal record.
