Our client is seeking an experienced Storeroom Controller / Senior Inventory Controller to take ownership of a busy parts and inventory function within a fast-paced automotive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career with a business that rewards commitment, accountability and performance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting workshop productivity and maintaining efficient stock control processes that directly impact customer service and business profitability. Remuneration: R 22 000 – R 25 000 CTC per month depending on experience - Benefits include Provident Fund Long-term earning potential of R28,000 – R35,000 CTC as responsibilities and performance grow Opportunity to develop into a senior leadership role within the business Detail: Duties Take full responsibility for daily storeroom and inventory operations. Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective stock control procedures. Manage goods receiving, inspection and verification against purchase orders. Process supplier orders and monitor outstanding deliveries. Perform cycle counts and scheduled full stock takes. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and inventory variances. Maintain accurate bin locations and inventory records. Monitor and maintain minimum and maximum stock levels. Issue parts accurately to the workshop while ensuring complete system accountability. Process supplier returns, warranty claims and stock adjustments. Ensure inventory accuracy through continuous monitoring and reconciliation. Utilise ERP and inventory management systems to manage stock movements and reporting. Work closely with Purchasing, Workshop and Management to ensure uninterrupted parts availability. Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and operational efficiencies. Maintain a clean, organised and compliant storeroom environment. Ensure all inventory procedures comply with company policies and best practices. Requirements: Minimum 5 years' experience as a Storeroom Controller, Senior Parts Controller or Inventory Controller / Parts Manager within a dealership, automotive aftermarket, 4x4 accessories, automotive manufacturing, heavy commercial vehicle or industrial engineering environment. Parts knowledge of 4x4, Toyota, Ford, VW is highly advantageous. General warehouse/storeman experience alone will not be considered. Proven experience in inventory control, goods receiving, supplier ordering, purchase order management, workshop parts issuing, stock takes, cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, stock discrepancy investigations, supplier returns, warranty processing, and maintaining minimum/maximum stock levels. Strong working knowledge of ERP or inventory management systems. Solid understanding of automotive parts and components, particularly Ford, Toyota, VW suspension, drivetrain, differentials, bearings, bushes, fasteners, electrical components and aftermarket accessories. Valid driver's licence and computer literacy. Highly organised, accurate and detail-oriented with strong integrity, problem-solving ability and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment. Must understand the critical impact inventory control has on workshop efficiency, customer satisfaction and business profitability.
