We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Automotive Claims Administrator to join our team.
The successful candidate will form part of a team responsible for the administration of Oil VAP claims . The role involves the time-sensitive adjudication and administration of claims, requiring regular interaction with policyholders, motor dealers, and various internal and external stakeholders.
Please note: this position is office based in Cape Town. No remote working options available.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain policyholder integrity and ensure accurate claims administration.
- Uphold Motor Group and Branch Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Liaise professionally and effectively with clients, motor dealers, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that all claims are handled within prescribed turnaround times and service standards.
- Maintain required quality, productivity, and performance standards.
- Ensure that all processes are followed accurately and consistently.
- Contribute positively to a high-performance team environment.

Knowledge and Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Matric .
- Insurance industry qualifications will be advantageous, including:
- RE5 (Regulatory Examination).
- FETC / NQF Level 4 or 5 further studies.
- Class of Business (COB).
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Previous automotive industry experience will be advantageous.
- Experience within a motor dealership, motor group, or insurance environment will be advantageous.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and insurance management systems will be preferred.
- Strong computer literacy and administrative skills.
Reporting Line
The successful candidate will report to the Team Leader(s) and Claims Manager .
Working Hours, Leave and Benefits
- Working hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Annual leave: 15 days per year.
- Retirement Annuity and Medical Aid schemes are available to permanent employees, subject to the applicable company terms and conditions.
Contract Period
The position will initially be offered on a 3-month contract .
Subject to meeting the required performance standards and business requirements, a permanent position may be offered thereafter .
Background Screening
Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide consent to and successfully complete an EMPS background check , which includes verification of:
- Tertiary education.
- Criminal record.
- Credit bureau information.
- Employment history.
- Work permit status, where applicable.
Package & Remuneration
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Negotiable (Cost to Company), depending on qualifications and experience.
The package includes
- A mandatory 5% monthly contribution to a Retirement Annuity Fund .
- A minimum Discovery KeyCare Plus medical aid cover , or an equivalent medical aid option.
