We are looking for a technically minded, reliable and results-driven individual with a passion for automation and control systems. We''re seeking an Automation Technician Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in PLC programming, installation and maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with PLC programming, troubleshooting and system modifications
- Supporting installation and commissioning of automation and control systems
- Performing electrical wiring and panel installations
- Testing, inspecting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment
- Assisting with fault-finding on electrical and automation systems
- Interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PLC logic
- Supporting preventative maintenance activities
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and programming records
- Participating in continuous improvement and automation projects
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF 4
- National Diploma, Trade Certificate or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or a related field
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Delta, Omron, etc.)
- Understanding of electrical control systems and industrial instrumentation
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical drawings
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
- Reliable and good at prioritising, with strong attention to detail
- Valid South African driver''s license and own transport
