In this role, you will act as the principal client-side technical authority for control systems, directing EPC contractors through rigorous software, hardware, and safety validations. You will bridge industrial digital design with physical operations—taking complex architectures from FAT/SAT testing through pre-commissioning, start-up, and final handover. Duties & Responsibilities

The Tech Stack Deep-Dive

Control Architectures & Automation Systems

  • Must-Haves: PLC, SCADA, DCS interfaces, Terminal Automation Systems (TAS), Tank Gauging Systems, Custody Transfer Metering, loading gantries, and Pump/Valve Automation.
  • Nice-to-Haves: Hands-on experience with platforms like Siemens, Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, or ABB.

Safety Instrumented Systems & OT Cybersecurity

  • Must-Haves: Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Fire & Gas (F&G) systems, SIL/IEC 61511 compliance, cause-and-effect matrices, interlocks, OT network segregation, and IEC 62443 / NIST cybersecurity standards.
  • Nice-to-Haves: TÜV/CFSP Functional Safety Engineer, ISA certification, or Professional Engineer (ECSA) status.

Industrial Communications & Field Networks

  • Must-Haves: Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Foundation Fieldbus, HART, Ethernet/IP, OPC, TCP/IP, and fiber optic network topographies.
  • Nice-to-Haves: Secure remote access protocols, advanced network firewall design, and system redundancy validation.

Key Responsibilities (Keep it brief)

  • FAT/SAT & Onsite Commissioning: Witness and verify Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, loop checks, ESD cause-and-effect matrix validation, and logic sequence testing.
  • EPC Deliverable Review & Governance: Review and challenge contractor Functional Design Specifications (FDS), logic diagrams, I/O lists, system architecture drawings, and cybersecurity dossiers.
  • Integration & Handover Management: Direct interdisciplinary automation integration with electrical, process, telecommunications, and operations teams while tracking punch items through to mechanical completion
