Automation Engineer DeltaV

A leading engineering and industrial technology organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong Emerson DeltaV experience to join its engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, integration, implementation, commissioning and support of electrical and process control systems across complex industrial projects. This role is ideally suited to an Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in Emerson DeltaV DCS , instrumentation, control systems and project engineering within process, mining, petrochemical, chemical, power or manufacturing environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and engineer electrical and control systems for industrial projects.
• Develop and review control system architectures, electrical schematics, control philosophies and technical specifications .
• Configure, develop and support Emerson DeltaV DCS solutions.
• Perform DeltaV system configuration, database development and control module implementation.
• Develop and modify DeltaV graphics, logic, sequences and control strategies .
• Integrate field instrumentation, PLCs, DCS systems and other control equipment.
• Develop I/O lists, instrument indexes, cable schedules and termination documentation.
• Review electrical and instrumentation drawings and engineering documentation.
• Assist with control system hardware selection and system architecture.
• Participate in FATs, SATs, loop checks, commissioning and site acceptance activities.
• Conduct system testing, fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable standards, specifications and client requirements.
• Assist with project planning, costing, procurement and technical reporting.
• Support system upgrades, modifications and maintenance of existing DeltaV installations.
• Identify opportunities for system optimisation, reliability improvements and engineering standardisation.

DELTAV EXPERIENCE Strong practical experience with Emerson DeltaV is essential. Experience should include several of the following:

• DeltaV DCS configuration and engineering.
• DeltaV control modules.
• DeltaV graphics and HMI development.
• DeltaV I/O configuration.
• Control strategies and process control logic.
• System architecture and controller configuration.
• DeltaV commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Integration with PLCs and third-party systems.
• System upgrades and modifications.
• FAT and SAT activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BEng / BSc / BTec
