Purpose
- To drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing certification sales opportunities across the food value chain. The Certification Sales Executive is responsible for promoting AssureCloud's food safety certification solutions, building strong client relationships, providing consultative guidance on certification pathways, and ensuring exceptional customer service while contributing to sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
Business Development and Sales Growth
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within food manufacturing, processing, retail, hospitality, agriculture, and distribution sectors.
- Promote AssureCloud's certification services including ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and related food safety audits.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Generate and qualify leads through networking, referrals, industry events, webinars, and market research.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, quotations, and commercial solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract closure and handover.
Client Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the certification sales process.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of clients' operational challenges, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
- Conduct regular client meetings and follow-up engagements to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Provide a high level of service and responsiveness throughout the customer journey.
- Act as a trusted advisor by guiding clients through certification and compliance pathways.
Technical Sales and Certification Advisory
- Provide consultative sales support regarding food safety certification requirements and audit processes.
- Translate complex certification requirements into practical and easily understood solutions for clients.
- Educate prospective clients on certification standards, implementation requirements, and audit cycles.
- Assist customers in understanding compliance obligations and certification benefits.
- Work closely with technical teams and auditors to ensure accurate information is provided to customers.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Collaborate with auditors, technical specialists, operations, marketing, and customer service teams.
- Ensure seamless transition between sales and service delivery functions.
- Communicate customer requirements and expectations clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate the resolution of customer concerns relating to certification processes and service delivery.
- Promote effective collaboration to ensure successful project and audit outcomes.
Market Intelligence and Industry Engagement
- Stay informed on food safety legislation, regulatory developments, and certification requirements.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities.
- Identify emerging opportunities for business growth and service expansion.
- Represent AssureCloud at industry conferences, expos, trade events, networking forums, and webinars.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support strategic decision-making.
Sales Administration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, quotations, and contracts within the CRM system.
- Manage and update the sales pipeline to ensure visibility of opportunities and forecasts.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance reports.
- Track sales targets, conversion rates, pipeline progress, and customer retention metrics.
- Provide accurate forecasting and contribute to strategic sales planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and reporting requirements.
Reporting Processes
- Submit weekly sales reports detailing client engagements, opportunities, quotations, pipeline status, and conversion activities.
- Provide monthly performance updates on revenue generated, sales targets achieved, and business development activities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure data integrity.
- Participate in monthly sales review meetings and business planning sessions.
- Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and annual growth planning processes.
- Ensure all customer and sales documentation is maintained in accordance with governance requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Business Management, Sales, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Food Safety, Quality Management, Sales, or Business Development will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably within food safety, compliance, inspection, auditing, certification, or related industries.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in consultative selling and managing complex sales opportunities.
- Experience interacting with stakeholders across the food manufacturing and supply chain sectors will be advantageous.
Skills

- Consultative sales approach with strong commercial acumen.
- Ability to explain technical certification concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in CRM systems Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems and certification requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and related food safety standards.
- Understanding of certification processes, audit cycles, accreditation requirements, and compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, processing, retail, hospitality, agriculture, and supply chain environments.
- Understanding of food safety legislation, risk management principles, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act and Consumer Protection Act will be advantageous.

- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel when required.
- Ability to represent the company professionally at industry events and client engagements.
